Azul Sensatori: Fact Sheet
Azul Sensatori is a family-friendly active beachfront resort with about 435 suites. It is located about fifteen to twenty minutes south of the Cancun International Airport. While it says it’s in Puerto Morelos, please note that the resort actually sits just north of the small town of Puerto Morelos, next to the Secrets Silversands Resort. This resort is part of the Karisma chain of properties that offers “gourmet inclusive” vacations. Since the Karisma Resorts are pretty consistent when it comes to their higher end properties, I wouldn’t hesitate to put families at one of the Azul properties. To see photos and reviews from other Karisma Resorts, see: El Dorado Royale and Casitas or Generations Riviera Maya.
We did not have the opportunity to either dine or sleep at the Azul Sensatori, so I don’t think it would be fair for me to comment on their service and facilities. I have, however, taken numerous photos to allow you to see what we observed during our site visit.
My overall impressions is that this property is beautiful. There are so many small touches and details that make it quite lovely (see photos). The pools are pristine, as are almost all of the areas of this resort. There are also a ton of different places to hang out. We especially loved the “beds” behind the lobby that look out over the resort and pools. It’s just a very relaxing place. And yet, with families everywhere, it is also active, colorful, and fun.
The restaurants are all upbeat and fun, with some being lively and full and others offering a more intimate setting. One special restaurant in particular is Le Chique, a gourmet, adults-only restaurant that features a very unique eight-course meal (although this varies). Meals may also be paired with wine. Keep in mind, this is one of the most popular restaurants, so reservations are required and a fee may be applicable.
The rooms are incredibly family-friendly, especially if you have babies and toddlers. Almost everything you could need can be found on property and in your rooms, including cribs, playpens, strollers, etc. They even provided bottled baby food! And the sliding privacy door is especially nice when traveling with older children. Where were these resorts when our kids were little? Even the restaurants carry a variety of kid-friendly toys to keep the little ones entertained so that mom and dad can enjoy a grown up meal.
The beach is decent. I wouldn’t say it’s the most beautiful beach in all of the Riviera Maya, but it is nice. I think the photos will do a better job of describing the beach that we can. It can get quite active, especially if there is a wedding, but if you’re all right with a lot of people around, then no worries. While it may look pretty, it may not be the most swimmable, especially without water shoes, so be warned.
So, what would we rate this resort? Well, from appearances only and the interaction we had with staff while inspecting the property, we’d love to say it’s a 4-star resort, but as always, we’re open to your feedback!
