Avalon Envision

We had the opportunity to visit the Avalon Envision while in Budapest, and hope to actually sail on an Avalon ship in March next Spring. Here is a quick little photoblog but we should be able to share a much more detailed blog in March.

The Avalon Envision measures the same as most river cruise ships. That said, there are two things in particular that make them stand out. First, they have created the one of a kind “Open-Air Balcony” concept.

These are wall to wall and floor to ceiling windows that open wider than all other windows, transforming an indoor seating area into an “almost outdoor” balcony. Guests can feel the wind in their hair and enjoy the beautiful views of cities floating by from their private rooms without sacrificing any interior space. It’s a brilliant new concept.

The second difference is that many of their beds face the open air balconies, creating a luxurious, relaxing, viewing experience right from their beds! I’ve never seen this before, but really love the concept. I’ll share my thoughts and photos when we return from our cruise next spring in Amsterdam and Belgium.

And of course, the bathrooms are beautiful as well, making the most of what limited space there is. There are also larger suites with additional living space as well.

The common areas are comfortable and spacious.

This is one of the bars in the lounge area.

And just a few more photos of the public spaces. I’m excited to sail on an Avalon ship!
