Today, we visited the captivating city of Maastricht, Netherlands. What a pretty place to dock! And being singly docked meant both sides of our ship had some fantastic views. Situated in the south, Maastricht is the oldest city in the Netherlands, founded by the Roman Empire. It is also known as the birthplace of the EURO. The village of Kinderdijk is located in the Netherlands, just a short distance from the vibrant city of Rotterdam. It is best known for its iconic windmills, built around 1740. Windmills have long stood as a symbol of Dutch ingenuity. Our River Cruise Expo took place in Amsterdam this year. The last time I visited the Netherlands, a college friend and I were backpacking through Europe shortly after graduating.
