Paris – Day 3

Day 3: Paris Part One – We took a private tour of Montmartre with one of our favorite guides, Audrey, on Day 3. She was excellent and we learned so much about this special area of Paris.

We especially loved the quaint, narrow, cobblestoned streets winding up and down this hilly area. Please note however that as charming as this area is, its steep streets are not ideal to explore for those who have mobility issues.

The white Sacré-Cœur Basilica crowns the Montmartre area at the summit, which is the highest point of the city.

The interior is beautiful but so are the views from outside.

Day 3: Paris Part 2 This afternoon, Noha took us on a walking tour of Paris. We visited Notre Dame and learned some amazing history about the heads of the statues lining the middle of the cathedral’s facade.

We strolled through Saint Germain and it’s narrow winding streets lined with shops, cafes, restaurants, churches, and so much more. There’s a ton to see and do in this area, especially if you enjoy shopping. If you’re a foodie like we are, the food is decent but it’s better to look elsewhere.

While exploring on foot with our guide, we found this lovely church and ducked in to explore for a few minutes. There was a service about to start, so we did not stay too long.

Day 3: Paris Part three. Later this afternoon, we experienced our first guided tour through the Louvre. I’m not sure why we waited so long to do this. We love to explore on our own but the depth of information we learned in such a short time was incredible. And a special thanks to Anatol. You were a wonderful, knowledgeable guide who could also be a comedian!

Our Guide, Anatol. He was so knowledgeable and engaging!

Just a few more pieces of art we enjoyed with Anatol.

After a very full day of exploring and learning, we ended the night with a little window shopping and a special dinner. Window shopping in Paris is extraordinary, wouldn’t you say?

And the number of restaurants to choose from is endless. I would stay in Paris much longer if I could…just to enjoy the experience of dining around.
