The Scenic Jasper

The Scenic Jasper joined the fleet of Scenic ships in 2015. This 169 passenger ship was created with the intention of offering additional space dedicated to public areas, which makes for a more comfortable cruising experience.

There are actually six dining options aboard the Scenic Jasper, which is an unusually high number. You can find a combination of fine dining as well as casual fare.

As with most river cruise ships, I love that you can lounge or dine while enjoying views of the water and the towns and villages you are passing.

Just a little hint of the small beautiful details they include to warm up your spaces.

And there is also quite a selection of stateroom categories, starting with your basic standard stateroom all the way up to your Royal Panorama Suite, with several other categories in between.

Above is a sampling of the different categories we were able to visit. The most spacious staterooms are on the upper deck.

The majority of staterooms offer a balcony. One unique difference is that the windows to the balcony slide down about half way, opening up your cabin to fresh air when desired, but protecting you when the weather is not cooperating. This allows you to maximize the interior space, giving your stateroom a larger feel to it.

Some staterooms have a dividing glass door to separate the room from the balcony as well, but you can choose to leave this open, if you prefer. Please do note that the standard cabins do not have balconies or windows that open, and they will be located on the lowest deck. They do have fixed windows set up high, so you will not enjoy the views that the balcony staterooms have.

Below are a few examples of the different bathrooms they offer. As you can see, they vary widely, depending on the category you choose.

And finally, the sun deck. There is so much more to this ship and others, but your travel agent will fill you in when it’s time to make a choice. In the meantime, I hope you’ve enjoyed our little River Cruise Series!
