Gotthard Express to Lugano – Day 12

Day 12: Today we traveled from Lucerne to Lugano on the Gotthard Panorama Express on our way to Lake Como. The total journey time for the Gotthard Panorama Express is around 5 and a half hours if you take the boat first and then transfer to the train. We weren’t planning on doing the whole journey at first, and planned to just transfer directly to the train, as we thought the whole trip may be too long. On the day of travel, however, we woke up and changed our minds. Thankfully, with… Read More

Burgenstock – Day 11

Day 11: The Burgenstock – What a gorgeous setting! This luxury resort invites guests from all over the world, excited to experience the majestic setting. With views of sparkling Lake Lucerne below and the rugged, often snow capped Swiss Alps in the distance, you will not be disappointed. Let’s start with a little Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee, French Pressed with a view you can hardly take your eyes off. And then I’ll dive right in. In order to reach this resort from Lucerne, you have several options. The first two are to… Read More

Lucerne – Day 10

Day 10: On day ten, we made our way from Interlaken to Lucerne. Here are a few photos we took while on the Panoramic train along the way. The landscape between these two cities is some of the prettiest, most scenic we’ve seen in all of Switzerland. I was glued to the window the whole time. Unfortunately, these photos do not do the beauty any justice! On arrival into Lucerne, we disembarked our train, and headed to our hotel on foot, as we were close enough to walk. A taxi or private… Read More

Interlaken – Day 9 Part 2

Day 9 Continued – Interlaken Part Two. After returning from our sailing adventure, we decided to explore Interlaken by foot. Here are a few photos we captured of this beautiful town. We stopped for coffee at one of our favorite places in Interlaken (we had a few). We also strolled through the town and shops, and made sure to sample a few of the chocolates and sweet shops along the way. As an aside, if you see any Laderach Chocolate shops while traveling in Switzerland, please do yourself a favor, and stop… Read More

Interlaken – Day 9

Day 9: Interlaken Exploration – While in Interlaken, we had planned to visit both Jungfraujoch and Schilthorn mountain tops. The weather was a bit too rainy and cloudy in the mountains, which meant visibility may have been poor. We opted to explore the beautiful lakes instead. Interlaken sits between Lakes Thun and Brienz. Both offer ferries that sail from village to village throughout the day. We started our day with a hot coffee and hearty breakfast at our hotel. We then chose to explore Lake Brienz (but would have been happy sailing… Read More

Victoria Jungfrau

Day 10: Interlaken in the Jungfrau Region. I wanted to share photos of our beautiful hotel. This was one of our favorite resorts to date for its relaxing atmosphere, tranquility, and unobtrusive luxury. We knew it was historical and lovely and have had clients stay here but we never knew how lovely it really was until we stayed ourselves. Not only is it a gorgeous resort in an ideal location, surrounded by nature and the Swiss Alps, but the staff goes out of their way to care for you. Enjoy the photos!… Read More

Jungfrau, Switzerland – Day 7

Day 7: On day seven, we transferred from breathtaking Zermatt to the majestic Jungfrau Region – going from one beautiful location to the other. I’ve seen photos for years, and we even visited Switzerland in 2015, but our time in this region was extremely short, as we just did a day trip. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to return and explore the area. I’m so glad we took the time to return. Today, I’ll mostly be sharing photos, as I think they speak for themselves. For our visit to the Jungfrau Region,… Read More

Zermatt, Switzerland – Days 5 and 6

We said a reluctant good-bye to Paris and headed to Zermatt, Switzerland via train. It was a long but fantastic journey. Our arrival into Zermatt was stunning, as the closer you get, the more fabulous the scenery was. We were even fortunate to get clear views of the Matterhorn, which is definitely not a guarantee. If you get a great view, make sure to capture it while you can. Moments later, it can be enshrined in clouds! Zermatt is a car free town so on arrival, you either make your own way… Read More

Switzerland Photoblog

While Switzerland is known for its chocolate (yum!), cheese, watches, and even pocket knives (Danny’s favorite thing), there is no denying that it’s most famous for it’s stunning pristine scenery with views everywhere you look! In addition to this, beautiful mountainous Switzerland is divided into three different regions – German, French, and Italian with four official languages.  It is one of the few countries where you can experience several cultures and languages in one visit.  This makes it an appealing choice when you want to experience a lot and yet have only a limited amount of… Read More
