Lake Como Venetian Boat – Day 18
We were supposed to take an all day cruise on Lake Como the morning after we arrived but the weather prevented that from happening. Thankfully we were able to extend our journey in Como by a day and reschedule with our Captain for the last day. We went to bed the night before, praying the sun would be shining! This is what we woke up to.
Before heading out for the day, we had a very hearty breakfast at the Hotel Villa Flori. It was included in our rate and was actually quite extraordinary. The service was excellent, friendly and professional, and the food options were great. The best part, however, were the outstanding views of Lake Como. I could have stayed in the breakfast room all morning.
Just look at the views!
After breakfast, we got ready to sail. We didn’t have to go anywhere, because the villa has their own private pier. Our Captain, Armando, pulled right up to the pier, so our departure was really convenient.
We loved the Venetian Boat and were so excited to see its approach.
After boarding our private Venetian Boat for the day, we set out to explore. Our itinerary was open and flexible.
While I can give you all the ins and out of what we did and where we went, I don’t think any of that is really important. When its your turn, your schedule will be determined by what you are most interested in! Do you want to visit several breathtaking villas with stunning, colorful garden? Would you prefer to town hop from one beautiful village to the next, sampling coffee, gelato, and lunch menus? Or perhaps you are most interested in shopping. Whatever you decide to do, you can’t really go wrong. It’s your day! Here are a few photos of our experience:
The above is one of my all time favorites. This is just a glimpse of one of the many spectacular private gardens that dot Lake Como. Look at those vivid colors! It was almost surreal.
So many beautiful villas are built into the gorgeous landscape.

And the landscaping is incredible.
We really enjoyed sailing from one small town to the next, at our own pace.
The mountain views in the background were particularly impressive.
This was my favorite backdrop…the snow capped mountains!
Did I mention we even stopped to visit a waterfall?!
At the end of the day, we headed back to our villa to say good-bye. It was truly one of the best ways to spend our last day in Lake Como!
