Day 16 Continued: One of our greatest discoveries while in the Lake Como area with stumbling upon the Secret Hidden Garden in Cernobbio. It is an oasis of tranquility and so hidden, you would never know it was there.

Here are a few photos we captured to share but they can hardly touch the actual experience of being there. First, the gorgeous, vibrant flowers and small trickling stream in the background!

I loved the benches along the way, inviting you to stop and stay a while! My favorite of all was the free lending library. Leave a book, borrow a book.

We also came across these unique carved wooden animals unexpectedly. It was obvious that a lot of thought and care went into creating this gorgeous tranquil oasis.

We started at the bottom of the hidden garden, so for us, it was a bit of a trek uphill but very easy, unless you have mobility issues. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes though.

We were surprised by how private the experience was. We may have seen two or three people here the whole time we enjoyed the garden. It was so special and peaceful…especially when the rest of Lake Como draws so many tourists. We’ll be sure to return to the secret garden the next time we are in this area.
