Hotel Villa Flori – Lake Como

Our home away from home in Lake Como. The Hotel Villa Flori is a 4-star boutique style resort that was converted from a 19th century villa. It is beautifully located lakeside, about an 8-10 minute drive from Como. It is one of many different accommodation options in the Lake Como area. It’s important that you make the right choice in terms of lodging, as this resort is a great fit for some, but not for others.

This smaller converted hotel has four floors, a restaurant, and is in a great location if you enjoy walking. Cernobbio is an easy 15-20 minute stroll north. If you’re more ambitious, you can also walk toward Como, which may take about 45 minutes or more. Buses and ferries are also available for transport.

On warm sunny days, this area in front of the hotel is a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the lake.

On clear days, the color of the water is spectacular! We forced ourselves to slow down each day so we could spend a little down time here by the lake, just taking it all in and trying to create memories.

Even on cloudy days, the scenery is beautiful, and ever changing as the clouds float by.

The Villa Flori takes advantage of the panoramic lake views and its fortunate lakeside location. In warm sunny weather, you can enjoy your meal right on their outdoor dining terrace or stroll through their modest private gardens with charming miniature statues.

Some rooms are small, so I would opt for a higher category room, preferably with lake views and a balcony.

If you do stay here, it’s definitely worth the splurge to get lake views. This hotel sits right on the water, so the whole setting is just lovely, and let’s face it. The lake is the whole reason you are visiting Lake Como in the first place, right?

The views are especially pretty from the Villa Flori as the sun begins to set.

We were gifted with an extra large balcony. It was lovely and we spent a lot of time out there, just relaxing and enjoying the views.

While the exterior areas of this hotel are gorgeous, the interiors of this converted villa are cosy and intimate, with colorful rug covered floors, older more traditional plush velvet seating and heavy vibrant drapes. In the lounge area, you’ll find arched ceilings and large windows offering relaxing lake views during the day.

We spent five nights here, so I will share additional photos of the hotel over the next few posts. For more information on our itineraries, feel free to email us at dtgainor@gmail.com or visit Global Getaways to learn more about who we are and how we work.
