The AMA Verde is a sister ship to the AMA Magna, but is more traditional in size. That said, it offers a unique twin balcony design in many of its staterooms. One side is a French veranda with seating and floor to ceiling glass doors that slide wide open to create an “interior” balcony space, while the other side is an actual outdoor balcony with seating. This maximizes the interior space in typically smaller staterooms in such a creative way. I love the idea. Similar to other river cruise ships, it offers several dining venues, a main lounge, a sun deck with a walking track and heated swimming pool, a massage and hair salon, and a fleet of onboard bicycles. Here is a view of one stateroom with the double balconies I discussed above. You’ll see on the right side is the French Balcony that has a sliding door with indoor seating, providing additional interior space while still having access to the fresh air and outdoor feel when doors are open. To the left is the outdoor balcony with exterior seating.

Staterooms on cruise ships are generally small, but you can see how they made the most of the space they had.

It’s so much nicer than I remember ocean cruise ship bathrooms to be. Below are a few from the balcony.

Keep in mind, when cruise ships are “parked” in port, they often line up next to other ships, which means that your balcony stateroom may be looking at another balcony stateroom on a different ship. No worries though, because you will most like be in town exploring until it’s time to depart. And now dining…

During the day, you may decide to head up to the sundeck and lounge there with friends, take a dip in the quiet pool, or enjoy a tranquil drink as you watch Europe sail by.

There are times in the day when you may choose to sit back with a cappuccino and share recent exciting travel memories with new friends onboard.
